From reality to runway and everything in between, Atlanta-born celebrity stylist, Brittany Harrington is the most sought-after fusion extension stylist in North America. Her proprietary technique has her touted as the fastest fusion artist, along with her signature custom color combinations and signature beachy textured mermaid style. It’s the reason her salon has the hair world buzzing and celebrity clients calling. Brittany’s artistry is rooted in her free-spirit, authenticity and high-vibe leadership derived from her extensive training, hard work and experience leading to the Salty Locks™ Sisters launch of the most innovative premium hair extensions on the market today.
Brittany Harrington is the definition of self-made. She began her career at the age of 14 working at a local salon, which turned into working 12-hour days to put herself through Georgia Institute of Cosmetology and a graduate of the On Set Hair Academy under celebrity hair stylist, Susan Lipson. In 2004, Brittany opened her first salon with just $700, a bucket of green paint and a plastic shampoo bowl. Just years later, Brittany and her sister Amber opened Studio 285, a 4,200 square foot salon with 18 stations and an incredible reputation and awarded 2018 Salon of the Year Top 200 in business by Salon Today Magazine, 2018 Winner of Metros Best Salon in Augusta, GA and 2019 Winner of Best Salon in Evans, GA.
Her dedication to mastering her craft led her to continuing education under Kim Vo, Susan Lipson Hair Extensions for On-Set Hair Production and more. Brittany was the lead runway stylist for The Knot and has styling credits from the Today Show, Tony Awards, Dior Fashion Week and ultimately the go-to stylist for Bravo TV reality stars like Teresa Giudice of Real Housewives of New Jersey and Ariana and Brielle Biermann of Real Housewives of Atlanta and Don’t Be Tardy...
Amber is co-founder of Salty Locks™ premium hair extensions and manages all operations of Studio 285. Her career began in nursing and corporate staff management. After several years, Amber decided it was time to pursue a Masters degree in Nursing, but her sister Brittany saw her beauty business mind and knew she was truly the yin to her creative yang. After two years of Brittany’s never-ending begging, Amber quit her job and educational pursuits to join Studio 285 with goals to grow the brand with her sharp business acumen and strategic planning and together the Salty Locks™ Sisters surpassed every goal.
In April 2014, Amber and her family suffered a devastating loss. Her 31-year-old husband passed away suddenly from an aortic aneurysm. Through her grief she found spiritual growth, as she embarked upon a European adventure to seek out answers and sort through her creative ideas and inspiration. Taking a leap of faith, she created the concept of Carraway Crossing and turned her passion into purpose.
Three years in the making, Carraway Crossing would be a new all-inclusive shopping experience she and Brittany meticulously customized based on their brand visions for Studio 285 and to attract like-minded retail businesses.
Amber is known at Studio 285 for exuding positive energy and possessing an undeniable passion for their clientele. She is also a very talented airbrush tanning artist and has been an invaluable partner in creating the Salty Locks™ brand.
Amber graduated from Augusta State University with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Business.
